Chin
Plasty
Reshape
your face, create better appearance with slimmer face
There are 4 protrude areas on human face those are forehead, nose,
cheek, and chin. The beautiful face must have balance of those areas.
If there is any imbalance of the 4 areas, refinement of each part
can solve the problem such as nose surgery, cheek refinement, or chin
augmentation |

The
type and complexity of this procedure is dictated by the degree of
chin deformity and the patient's treatment goals
1. Using silicone stick. This
technique is suit for slight or moderate refinement.
The pros are it is a simple surgery,
takes short time, and sedation is not required.
The cons is the silicone
can cause many side effect
2. Reposition the chinbone forward. This
technique is used for patient that requires high degree of chin refinement.
The pros are silicone is not required, use patient's
own bone
The cons are it is more complicated procedure,
longer incision, time-consuming, and must be performed under general
anesthesia and sedation
3. Onlay Bone Graft. This
technique is no longer implemented since the implanted bone can decay
and it requires more incisions to reinsert new bone |

Chin
augmentation using silicone has been done for around 30 - 40 years
and proven to be safe. The silicone stick will be modified to the
desired shape and inserted through incision to place over the chinbone.
There are 2 procedures available as follow;
1. Internal oral incision. This is very
popular since there is no external scar.
2. Under chin incision. This is used
for patient with very small chin. Inserting the silicone stick through
oral incision may not be in the desired position |

The
silicone chin refinement is performed on an outpatient basis. Patient
will experience a brief period of chin swelling, normally in the first
3 days. During that period, patient must stay on a soft diet until
the wound heal.
Wound infection may occur such as silicone stick protrude through
the skin, thinner chinbone, wound bleeding, altered sensation of the
lower lip, silicone stick moves from the desired position.
